A Note from Our Founder: Divine Construction

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”— Psalm 127:1

God is the Master Builder. Rebecca guides His vision as project manager, with She Builds as His divine construction site. She once built hospitals, offices, cafés, and commercial buildings. Now, by God’s grace, she builds women.

  • Rebecca holds a Master’s in Construction and a Bachelor’s in Spatial Planning, with over 22 years managing construction projects in New Zealand, including running her own design and renovation company. She knew blueprints, timelines, and how to build structures that stand — but God had a different blueprint for her.

    By May 2024, Rebecca and her family sold everything and moved to Brisbane, stepping fully into God’s plan. She thought she would return to what she knew best — design and construction — and focused there, submitting nearly 100 applications, yet the doors remained closed.

    Rebecca prayed, “Lord, if after 100 doors the path still remains closed, I will trust You to guide me elsewhere.” At the 100th application, she realised the door was closed for her good. Turning fully to God, she asked, “Lord, what are You holding in Your other hand?” And He whispered:
    “Becs, transfer your skills from building buildings to building lives.”

    When she faced the voice of God, Rebecca understood that He does not call the qualified — He qualifies the called.

    In May 2025, Rebecca began school chaplaincy, strengthening young girls’ foundations, restoring identity, and speaking truth. But the call grew louder: “Build women like you build houses.”

  • Rebecca builds because He first built her. When there seemed to be no hope, He showed her how to build again. She realised it is God’s heart to build His people — to be bold, take hold of what has been given, and impact the world. She understood that building lives, like building homes, requires vision, patience, and the right foundation. Rebecca believes that when God builds through His people, the effects ripple beyond one life, shaping families, communities, and generations. She is committed to helping women rise, fully embracing their God-given potential, and creating spaces where faith, purpose, and action intersect.

    Too often, dreams remain on the drawing board — like designing a house but never laying the foundation, gathering builders, or bringing the plan to life.

    Founder | Head of Transformation & Growth

    After a successful corporate career and running her own renovation business, Rebecca brings 25+ years of experience in design, construction, and leadership. With a Master of Construction Management and as a certified behavioural analysis trainer, she is passionate about building women with faith, clarity, and confidence to thrive in life and business.

  • Fern Lee

    Communications & Operations Lead

    Fern worked in IT and co-ran a small business with her husband before spending 15 years raising her family. These experiences gave her insight into the challenges women face at home and at work. She is passionate about creating connections and fostering a community where women feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow into who they were created to be.

  • Faith Denning

    Event Facilitator

    Faith has worked as a theatre practitioner, teacher, and currently serves as a chaplain, bringing extensive experience in guiding, mentoring, supporting, and inspiring others. She believes everyone has the potential to shine and make a positive impact, using drama and creative facilitation to explore ideas, perspectives, and deeper understanding.
